Find out more and register on our NEW site – https://www.homeschool-life.com/MO/forthekingdom

CHANGE IS IN THE AIR! We have quite a few changes…including a new location and a new meeting dayFRIDAYS!

  • New Location!  We are super excited to partner with a church family in downtown Belton, MO this year! The new location will give us room to grow!
  • New DAY!  We will now meet on FRIDAYS instead of on Mondays. We will be able to end each week by fellowshipping with our community!
  • New Simplified Schedule!  For FTK, the word of the season is “Simplify”. As much as possible, we want to make it easier to homeschool as a family. With our new schedule, what your 3rd grader is learning in Life Science will be similar to what your 10th grader is learning in Biology. All families will be on the same History timeline, using the same curriculum. See our class schedule for details.
  • New Website! We are so pleased to go live with our new website hosted through Homeschool Life! This site will streamline Registration, sign-ups, online payments, communication, classwork, and SO much more! Our new site is still under construction as we move from one site to another, but you will be able to Register your family and get signed up for classes. Check out our new website at https://www.homeschool-life.com/MO/forthekingdom

Thank you 2019-2020 FTK Families!

FTK Admin, Parents, Volunteers, and Teachers: I am SO deeply grateful for each and every minute you have planned, taught, graded, organized, substituted, cleaned, and blessed us here at FTK. Every effort spent and time given to each child and youth is a seed in their beautiful lives and time well spent.

This year has been a good year and one with very special memories. Only God knew that we would have to come together to continue virtually and I am so thankful for all your help in bringing this year to completion. Thank you, FTK Families for all your investments, love and time given to all of us this year. ~Ruthe

Looking forward to what God has planned for the 2020-2021 Co-op year!

New Year, Renewed Vision

For the Kingdom Co-op Class Picture 2018-2019

“Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.”  ~Matthew 6:33

Welcome to our website and thank you for your interest in our homeschool co-op!

My name is Ruthe Reid and I am the new Principal / Director of For The Kingdom Homeschool Co-op.  Our family has been homeschooling for 16 years. I am a second-generation homeschooler; my mom homeschooled me in the jungles of Peru while missionaries.  My parents’ lives and examples gave me a love of learning, serving, and leading. At the age of five, I gave my heart to Jesus and have been learning to trust in Him and His leadership ever since.  My husband and I met on the mission field and while in high school, fell in love and married in the U.S. several years later. Now 5 children and one military career later, we are so grateful God has planted us here in Missouri.

New Leadership For A New Year  God has used For the Kingdom Homeschool Co-op to grow and strengthen our family. We have attended FTK for the last 3 years while I have taught in the Secondary program.  During this time, He blessed us with strong friendships and a close community. Last year, FTKs founder Melissa Holstrom handed over the reigns of directing FTK to me.  After much prayer and seeking wisdom, I felt that God invited us to move forward with FTK. I am honored and excited to join with so many amazing families and leaders to continue what God started.

We want to give our children a strong foundation in knowing God and a place to encourage their hearts to love and serve others while growing in character and academic excellence.  This year we are restructuring to help us grow a stronger homeschool community.  I love God’s promises to us. “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” (Phil. 1:6).

I am excited to invite you to our new year together!  We have a wonderful leadership team preparing for this coming school year and an excellent Elementary and Secondary program for homeschool families.  We would love for you to join us!

Blessings,

Ruthe Reid

A Letter from FTK’s Founder

Thank you for checking out For the Kingdom! I want to share how God moved and breathed For the Kingdom to life. I hope you find great joy in reading this, as it is a joy to share this story of His goodness and faithfulness!

In the Spring of 2014, I felt God nudging me to start a homeschool co-op in the Lee’s Summit area. I tried to push that nudge aside, and even gave God a lot of excuses why I shouldn’t do this. One major obstacle was that I had no experience starting or running a co-op.

As I spoke with some friends to gauge interest, I was surprised to find that their interest was high. As we continued to discuss what FTK could offer, many of them wanted to know what their kids were learning academically while attending  the co-op and to be able to continue those lessons at home. The parents wanted a co-op that would partner with them in their homeschool journey.

After a few more meetings with my friends, God began laying on my heart what HE WANTED in His co-op. That’s when I knew it was something I needed obey and get to work. I got over my fear and began to trust God’s vision, because I LOVED what He had planned. God wanted FTK to be a place where we put Him first, where we start our day as a staff praising Him and praying. He wanted it to be a place where the children begin their day in worship, hearing a message from God, and then praying to Him.

God wanted His co-op to be a place not just where our kids learned and made friends, but a place where our moms and dads were able to find a community, a FAMILY where we could build each other up, carry each other through, and be the hands and feet of Christ to one another. He also made it clear that the program should be affordable for families.

When God revealed these things to me, I couldn’t wait to to serve Him and start this incredible journey that He called me to. Even though I had no experience, God equipped me and He brought amazing women to lead with.  I said yes to God, and For the Kingdom was born. We opened our doors in just 4 short months after saying “yes” in September 2014.

Every year, God moves in mighty ways, and provide in ways that only He can provide. Being a part of the FTK family where we get to serve one another as the hands and feet of Christ is a blessing.  To be a part of a community, a family, that builds each other up and spurs each other on is such an encouragement. He has provided amazing teachers, leaders, volunteers, and students that are such a priceless gift. He has been faithful and so good to His co-op and I can’t praise Him enough for calling me on this journey to be a part of For the Kingdom.

I pray for you as you continue to seek out what is best for your family and hope that next school year I get to welcome you into our For the Kingdom family!

Love in Christ,
